American Truck Simulator — Join Our Convoys!

NOTE: See the last section you need to edit your config.cfg file to find and join our convoy server.

We do American Truck Simulator Convoys on Saturday and Sunday nights at 10pm ET. Please join by 10pm ET and we’ll figure out a job to get. Newbs are welcome.

Our server is CoffeeCulture, please adjust your config.cfg file to be able to discover this server, see the end of the article. You can verify you can see the server and we’ll give you the password on stream.

THE THEORY OF OUR CONVOYS

Some of us have all (or nearly all) of the states, others have only the base game. We try to accommodate both types in different convoys.

POOR MAN’S CONVOY — Saturday nights 10pm ET

Saturday nights are a the “poor man’s convoy,” anyone with any combination states (even just the base game) can join and we’ll drive only in the states the person with the least states has. This convoy is meant to be more inclusive, we encourage you to join us here.

RICH MAN’S CONVOY — Sunday Nights 10pm ET

Sunday nights we usually are joined by Espress0Roast. We have a more exclusive convoy with people who have all the states (or nearly all), so we have more freedom in choosing where to takes jobs.

Importantly in this convoy we also drive small roads and pull into places just to get coverage on the Map. If you are into rushing down the Interstate at high speed, you can do that, but most of us will be following Espress0Roast around when he’s in the convoy and he “paints” for map coverage.

TIME CHANGES CAUSE FLASHING SCREEN

One thing we do that that will irk a few people is the time changes. It’s just not fun to drive at night when there’s usually some excellent scenery to be seen. Especially on movie spots / cutscenes, it’s not really interesting to watch them at night.

Thus, when around 10pm in the game rolls around and it gets dark, we move the time forward. Unfortunately in the game, even if I

THE RULES

All right we do have official rules and guidelines.

1. We have damage turned on, we will not negotiate this. See the “Drive Right Rule” below. Don’t hit other people, even by accident.
2. We take World of Trucks / External jobs at times there is a 65mph speed limit.
3. Don’t talk for more than 10 seconds on the CB radio, try to keep transmissions shorter, because some people are streaming and have to keep up with chat, etc, so they can’t always listen to what you say.
4. Having said that, if you are new and we don’t know you, we expect you to be responsive to your radio and join the conversation, excepting rule #5.
5. Remember some people in the convoy may not speak English, if you can’t please use in-game chat to communicate with us.
6. We don’t do a Discord meeting to talk to each other because of streamers in the convoy.
7. Note the time changes to morning that occur nightly in-game, they cause a flash on the screen. If you are sensitive to this, let us know.
8. Assuming you already have the password, please join the convoy server before 10pm ET! If you need the password see us on stream, either TruckandTrain (Twitch / YouTube) or Espress0Roast should be able to give it to you.
9. Edit your config.cfg per the last section of the article.

THE CONFIG SETTINGS

To find our convoy, look for the CoffeeCulture server in the game. Note, we allow more than 8 players so you need to set a line in your config.cfg file first or you won’t find us! Edit your config.cfg (back it up first to be sure!) and change this line to 128. Then you’ll discover all servers larger than the default eight people limit.
